Many of Able's core functions work offline — file organization, vault access, system analysis, viewing memory. The AI reasoning layer (which handles complex natural language commands) requires an internet connection to reach the AI engines. Able automatically uses whichever connection is available and falls back gracefully when offline.
PRIVACY & SECURITY
Your vault data never leaves your machine. Passwords, API keys, wallet keys, and secrets stored in Septaguard Vault are encrypted locally using AES-256-GCM and never transmitted anywhere. Not to our servers, not anywhere.
When you give Able a natural language command, the command text is sent to the AI engine for processing (same as typing into any AI chat). The response comes back and Able acts on it locally. Your actual files, your vault contents, and your personal data stay on your machine.
Septaguard is Able's proprietary 7-layer security architecture, developed exclusively by Apex Empire Inc. It protects your vault with:
AES-256-GCM local encryption on all stored secrets
Machine-bound keys that only work on your specific hardware
Per-session rotating encryption keys
Zero-knowledge architecture — Apex Empire cannot read your vault
Dead switch — locks and purges on tamper detection

No. Septaguard uses zero-knowledge architecture — meaning your vault is encrypted with keys that only exist on your machine, derived from your hardware. Even if someone at Apex Empire wanted to read your vault, they could not. The encryption is mathematically impossible to reverse without your machine and your master credential.
Able's memory and configuration live in AppData\Roaming\AbleMemory\ — separate from the app itself. For vault data, AbleCloud encrypted backup lets you export a Septaguard-encrypted backup that can only be restored on your authenticated device. Contact support@uable.store for recovery options.

Able stores your conversation memory in AppData\Roaming\AbleMemory\ — a location that survives app reinstalls, updates, and new builds. Every conversation is recorded. When the memory fills up, old conversations are compressed and archived using Able's proprietary storage layer, making room for new conversations while keeping everything accessible. Say "search memory [topic]" to retrieve anything Able has learned from past sessions.
No. Able is built on Rust — one of the fastest, most memory-efficient languages available. In idle mode, it uses less than 50MB of RAM and essentially zero CPU. Background evolution (the Cortex) only activates when you haven't used your computer for a few minutes. Able is engineered to be invisible until you need it.
Able is a newly released application. Windows SmartScreen shows this warning for any new software that hasn't yet built up a reputation in Microsoft's system — this is normal and not an indication that Able is unsafe. Code signing certificates are being processed and this warning will disappear in a future update. To install: click "More info" then "Run anyway."
The tessellation is the peer-to-peer network that connects every Able. Each Able is a hexagonal node on the grid. As the network grows, every Able becomes smarter — inheriting anonymous patterns and insights from every other Able in the ecosystem.
The tessellation also enables Able-to-Able file transfer: send files of any size directly from your Able to someone else's Able, encrypted end-to-end, no cloud, no file size limits, no third-party servers. "Send anything to anyone. No limits. Just Able."
